Volleyball's Robin Mignerey Announces Resignation
Jan. 27, 2003
JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University head volleyball coach Robin Mignerey announced that she will resign, effective Feb. 1, after three seasons to spend more time with her family. The Dolphins plan to have a new head coach in place by early February.
Mignerey, who was named to the Atlantic Coast Conference 50th Anniversary Team last summer after a standout playing career at Clemson, compiled a 42-43 overall record and a 19-11 mark in conference play in three seasons at the helm of the Dolphin program. This past season, she led the Dolphins to their fourth-straight Atlantic Sun Conference Championship appearance and their first victory over two-time defending A-Sun champion UCF since 1989.
The Lake Worth, Fla., native first came to JU as an assistant coach in 1997. After serving as an assistant for two seasons, Mignerey took over the reins of the program prior to the 2000 season and saw the Dolphins break the school record for hitting percentage each season.
