Sept. 2, 2004

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The JU volleyball team will not compete in the USF Invitational this weekend in Tampa, due to the event being cancelled by travel concerns caused by Hurricane Frances. USF made the decision to cancel the tournament, scheduled for Friday-Saturday, Sept. 3-4, after George Mason and UT-Chattanooga decided not to attempt a flight into Florida. The Dolphins also had their home opener against TCU on Monday, Sept. 6, at 1 p.m. cancelled due to travel issues. The Dolphins, who have had their first four matches cancelled due to Hurricane Frances, will open the 2004 season at the Furman Invitational in Greenville, S.C., on Friday, Sept. 10, at 7 p.m. against Ohio. JU will then host its 2004 home opener at Swisher Gymnasium against Bethune Cookman on Tuesday, Sept. 14, at 7:30 p.m.
