JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Junior middle hitter Lindsey Ward (Fernandina Beach, Fla.) finished with career highs in kills (14) and hitting percentage (.684) while senior outside hitter Candice Rose (Mechanicsville, Md.) also added 14 kills to lead the JU volleyball team to a season-high .419 hitting percentage and a 3-0 (30-16, 3-21, 30-24) win over Bethune-Cookman in a non-conference match, Monday evening at Swisher Gymnasium. The Dolphins improve to 9-10 on the year while the Lady Wildcats drop to 10-8. With the victory, JU won their fifth consecutive home match while improving their home record to 5-2 on the year.

Sophomore outside hitter Eva Stoilova (Sofia, Bulgaria) finished with 12 kills to run her consecutive double-digit kill streak to three matches, junior outside hitter Joanna Silva led the squad with 13 digs and junior setter Erin Donivan (Sarasota, Fla.) dished out 32 assists. JU dominated from start to finish as every Dolphins finished with a positive hitting percentage in the contest including a .514 mark in game one, a .425 total in game two and .340 in the final frame. Along with Ward, junior middle hitter Danielle Neville (Greenwood Village, Colo.) hit .538 (8-1-13) while Rose (.433) and Stoilova (.385) also finished above .300 from the floor.

Melissa Sanders led Bethune-Cookman with 14 kills and Megan Meyers added a double-double with 29 assists and 13 digs. Jessica Martin added 10 digs and Chaqula Pointer hit .429 (5-2-7) from the floor.

JU will continue A-Sun play this weekend as the Dolphins travel to Tallahassee to face 25th-ranked Florida A&M on Thursday, Oct. 28, at 7 p.m.
