Jacksonville falls to Georgia Southern, 3-1

STATESBORO, Ga. - - Despite double-double efforts from Petya Borisova and Eva Stoilova, the Jacksonville volleyball team feel to Georgia Southern 3-1 in the finale of the season opening Georgia Southern Invitational.

Stoilova racked up 16 kills and a team-high 22 digs while Borisova had 15 kills and 12 digs in the loss.

The Dolphins (0-3) took an exhausting game one, 35-33, recording 25 kills in the game.

Georgia Southern (2-1) followed by winning the final three games. The Eagles took games two and three by the score of 30-27 and iced the match with a 30-23 win in game four.

Iulia Porumbescu led the Eagles with 25 kills and 24 digs while Bailey Coleman added 24 kills and 21 digs.

Lindsay Ward led the Dolphins in kills with 18 and had three blocks. Joanne Silva added 19 digs with Alyssa Fowles chipping in with 15 digs.

The Dolphins return to the court again on Monday at #8 Florida. First serve is set for 7 p.m.
