VOLLEYBALL BLOG: Alliya Drzewiecki edition (10/31)
Coming off of a tough weekend with a 1-2 record, we had no choice to buckle down at practice.
We focused on winning the side-out battles, putting the ball down, and even ending the opposing team’s runs. With a hard week coming to an end, we were feeling confident in our abilities to come together and take Mercer down. It felt like our team was starting to finally click and learn how to work together.
It was crunch time, now or never. Last time we played Mercer; we rallied for five matches and finally pulled out the win. We knew they would come out ready to go against us, since they just beat North Florida the previous night, and we were prepared to meet them with the same intensity.
The first game started a little shaky but we pulled it together and came out on top. The start of the second game showed us who we are as a team. Our team went on a 10-0 run against the Bears and it never felt better. In the third set, we came out a little shaky but never lost our energy or drive. We left with a 3-0 win under our belts.
Though we fought for our win against Mercer, we still have a long road ahead of us. This week brings UNF to our court where we will definitely show them who the Dolphins are.
