Volleyball gets good results from Dig Pink event
The JU volleyball team made an impact in the fight against breast cancer with online donations and a successful “Dig Pink” event last weekend during a 3-0 win over Campbell at Swisher Gymnasium.

The program raised $2,018.05 over the past two months through online donations on JUDolphins.com and players selling pink ribbons on and off campus. All of the proceeds raised will go directly to the Side-Out Foundation and the North Florida Affiliate of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.

“We were all very excited to contribute to our nation’s fight against breast cancer,” said JU head coach Shaun Kupferberg. “Everyone in our program has been affected in some manner by this disease and the team really got behind this cause to raise awareness.”

During the match against the Camels, the Donna Foundation set up a table in the lobby of the gym with educational information, the team continued to sell pink ribbons for donations during the first set and the Dolphins wore pink uniforms.

JU will return to the road this week as the Dolphins face Lipscomb on Friday at 8 p.m. ET. The squad will end the weekend at Belmont on Saturday at 4 p.m. ET.
