Rich Hall enters his fourth season as a volunteer coach on Shaun Kupferberg’s staff and is no stranger to the Atlantic Sun Conference or the First Coast.

His duties include assisting in practice drills and skills, serving as team serve-receive coordinator while also scouting opposing teams.

Prior to JU, Hall was an assistant coach for the University of North Florida’s women’s team from 1996-2007 and helped with the program’s transition to Division I after dominating the Division II ranks.

During that time, the Ospreys earned a berth in the NCAA Division II Tournament in seven out of eight years while winning the Peach Belt Conference title in all eight seasons. He also coached nine All-America honorees, 14 all-South Region selections, 24 all-conference players, six conference players of the year and four freshmen of the year.

While with the women’s team, Hall also served as head coach for the UNF men’s club team from 1999-2003.

Prior to UNF, he was an assistant coach for the boy’s Junior Olympic Volleyball program from 1994-96 in Virginia Beach, Va. He was also an assistant coach for the boy’s volleyball team at Green Run High School in 1995.

Hall has also served as an instructor at numerous clinics and team and individual skills camps at UNC-Charlotte, Alabama, Appalachian State and UNF.

As a player, Hall was a member of the Tidewater Volleyball Association from 1990-96. He earned his bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from Old Dominion University in 1989 before getting his master’s in electrical and computer engineering at the University of Florida in 2006.

A member of USA Volleyball (USAV), American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) and USA CAP Level II certified since 1995, Hall is currently an Electronics Engineer at NAS JAX and has also been an adjunct mathematics professor at St. John’s River Community College since 2009.
