FAU Sweeps Season Series With JU

Boca Raton, Fla. - Playing its second straight game with out leading scorer Angela Walker, Jacksonville (6-17, 5-9) was defeated by Florida Atlantic (13-11, 11-4) by the score of 83-71 in TAAC women's basketball action Saturday night. The victory was the second straight for the Lady Owls and their second of the season over the Dolphins.

Sophomore Lana Labura posted her first career double-double starting in the place of Walker, out with a foot injury, and freshman Lexie Richards scored a team-high 18 point, but it was not enough as FAU shot 49.3% (35-71) from the floor to knock off Jacksonville. Freshman Milica Miljkovic netted 13 point and pulled down nine rebounds for JU, while classmate Kelly Stevenson and Labura added 12 and 11 points respectively. Labura led JU with a game-high 11 rebounds in the loss.

Jacksonville will return to action on Thursday, February 24th for a key TAAC match-up with second place Samford, game time 7:00 PM. JU will close out its home schedule on Saturday, February 26th at 7:00 versus preseason TAAC favorite Jacksonville State.
