March 10, 2000

Jacksonville, Fla. - Jacksonville University junior Angela Walker (Kissimmee, Fla.) and freshman Lexie Richards (Mercer Island, Wash.) both earned postseason TAAC honors in the Dolphins' first year of women's basketball. Walker was named to the TAAC's Third-Team by conference coaches and sports information directors, while Richards was voted to the league's All-Freshman team.

Despite missing two games and being limited in three others late in the season due to a foot injury, Walker finished the regular season as the Dolphin's leading scorer (10.7 ppg.) and rebounder (6.1 rpg.), and led JU in steals with 50. Walker was also third on the team in assists (43) and blocks (15), and second in minutes played per game (27.6). Walker, named TAAC Player-of-the-Week earlier in the season (1-18), finished the regular season ranked among the top 15 in the TAAC in scoring (T-15th), rebounding (11th), steals (9th), blocks (13th) and offensive rebounds (12th).

Richards, also named as TAAC Player-of-the-Week earlier in the year (2-21), was the only player to start every game for the Dolphins during the 1999-2000 season. She led JU in three pointers made (66), three-point field goal percentage (41.5%), assists (66) and minutes played per game (31.2). Richards was also second in steals (27) and scoring (9.9 ppg.) and third in total field-goal percentage (41.8%). Among TAAC players, Richards finished third in three-point accuracy and second in three-pointers made per game (2.44).
