JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Four Dolphins finished with double digit scoring totals as the Jacksonville University women's basketball team ran its winning streak to six with a 63-58 win over TAAC foe Troy State Saturday afternoon in Swisher Gymnasium.

Sophomore post player Kat Sungy (Arvada, Colo.) and senior point guard Shannon Wynn (Wasilla, Alaska) tied for the team lead with 13 points, and Sungy recorded her ninth double-double in the victory. Sungy tied her own school record with 18 boards while setting a new mark with nine offensive rebounds.

With the win, JU improved to 10-10 on the year and 6-5 in league play which gives the Dolphins sole possession of fourth place in the league standings. Troy State, who came into the game tied with the Dolphins for fourth place in the TAAC, fell to 9-10 overall and 5-6 in conference action.

Junior forward Lana Labura (Zagreb, Croatia) had 11 points and four rebounds, and senior forward Angela Walker (Orlando, Fla) had 10 to go along with eight boards, five assists and four steals.

JU opened the scoring on a layup by Wynn 1:00 into the game, and took an early 6-2 lead. Troy State responded with a 7-0 run to take a three-point advantage with 12:33 to play in the first half, but that would be the largest lead the Lady Trojans would have all afternoon.

The Dolphins tied the score on two occasions and retook the lead at the 7:17 mark when Walker hit a layup to give JU a 13-11 advantage. JU led 26-20 with 1:46 left to play in the first half, but Troy State rattled off eight unanswered points to end the period as the Lady Trojans went into the halftime lockerroom leading 28-26.

It was a back-and-forth battled early in the second half, but a layup by Sungy with 14:54 to play gave the Dolphins a 35-34 lead that they would never relinquish. JU led 41-39 with 11:15 left to play, but went on a 10-3 run over the next 3:42 and the lead swelled to a game-high nine points. The teams traded baskets on the next two possessions, but Troy State would not go away quietly.

The Lady Trojans began chipping away at the JU lead, and cut the lead to three on a pair of Chaquita Alexander free throws to make the score 57-54 with 3:23 left to play. That would be as close as Troy State would get, however, as the Dolphins responded with a layup by Walker on the next possession and hit their free throws down the stretch to clinch the victory.

Jennifer McInnis led the Lady Trojans with a game-high 19 points. She also paced the club in rebounds with eight, while Kim McGriff added seven boards. Reserve Tomekia Gollate also had a solid outing with 10 points on 5-of-7 shooting.

The Dolphins return to action on Thursday, Feb. 8, when they travel to Boca Raton, Fla., where JU will take on TAAC rival Florida Atlantic in the FAU Gymnasium.
