Box Score

BUIES CREEK, N.C. - Junior guard Aisha Stewart (Topeka, Kan.) scored 14 points and grabbed six rebounds to lead the Jacksonville women, but the Dolphins' late rally came up short in a 58-51 loss to Campbell in Atlantic Sun Conference play Monday night at Carter Gym.

Sophomore forward Yolisha Jackson (Clarksville, Tenn.) added 11 points, 10 in the second half and also had six rebounds. Jackson, who only hit 2-of-12 from the floor but 7-of-8 from the line, has scored in double figures in 13 of 14 games this season, including the last 10 in a row. Kat Sungy had nine points and eight boards, while Kara Donnell scored six points, pulled down a game-high 11 boards and had a career-high three blocks.

Campbell had their largest lead of the night, 52-34, with 6:24 to play, but the Dolphins went on a 17-4 run behind six points from Jackson to cut the deficit to five (56-51) with 27 seconds left. However, JU would get no closer as Campbell's Stacey Hinkle hit a pair of free throws with 12 seconds left to cap the scoring.

Neither team shot well as Campbell (6-7, 4-2 A-Sun) shot 38.1 percent (24-of-63) from the floor and only 3-of-13 from behind the arc. JU (1-13, 0-7 A-Sun) shot only 35.7 percent (20-of-56) from the field and only hit 1-of-12 from long range. The Dolphins outrebounded their opponent for the 10th time in 14 games, holding a 46-32 edge over the Fighting Camels.

Hinkle and Preseason A-Sun Player of the Year selection April Cromartie scored 14 points apiece to lead Campbell. Cromartie, who was held to only two points in the first half, had a team-high seven rebounds, while Jessica Stanley added 12 points and five boards off the bench.

The Dolphins return to action when they host Samford Saturday at 4:30 p.m. at Swisher Gymnasium.
