JU Women Drop 68-35 Decision to Georgia State

ATLANTA - Jacksonville University freshman guard Tara Eddy (Vienna, Va.) led the Dolphins with a career-high 13 points, four rebounds and four steals in a 68-35 loss to Georgia State in Atlantic Sun Conference action Saturday afternoon at GSU Sports Arena.

Sophomore center Kara Donnell (Mattoon, Ill.) had seven points and five boards, and junior guard Katie McDonald (Chandler, Ariz.) scored seven points before fouling out. Senior forward Kat Sungy (Arvada, Colo.), who was also in foul trouble, was held to four points and five rebounds.

Evita Rogers led GSU with 13 points and seven rebounds, while Monica Thomas, Angelina Miller and Patechia Hartman, who set a new GSU record with eight steals, added 10 each.

GSU (12-10, 7-4 A-Sun) shot 46 percent from the field, but only 1-of-15 from three-point range, while JU (5-17, 3-8) shot only 32 percent from the floor. The Lady Panthers outrebounded the Dolphins, 39-23, and forced JU into 30 turnovers.

The Dolphins return to action when they host Troy State on Thursday at 7 p.m. at Swisher Gymnasium.
