The Dolphins (5-18, 3-9) cut the lead to 32-29 with 17:54 left, but would get no closer the rest of the way. Troy State led by as many as 16 with 7:19 to go, but the Dolphins fought back to within six with under a minute to play.

JU shot 47 percent from the field for the game and hit 5-of-17 from behind the arc, while Troy State shot 44 percent, 58 percent in the second half, and nailed 7-of-18 from long range. The Dolphins outrebounded the Lady Trojans, 33-26, but turned the ball over eight more times (21-13).
