Women's Basketball Posts Three Double-Digit Scorers in 79-58 Loss to UCF

ORLANDO, Fla. - Junior forward Yolisha Jackson (Clarksville, Tenn.) led three Dolphins in double-digits with 16 points, while freshman center Meghan Ostendorf (Marietta, Ga.) and sophomore guard Sheena Carpenter (Augusta, Ga.) scored 12 points each, but UCF maintained a 22-point halftime lead to win, 79-58 Thursday night at UCF Arena.

JU drops to 3-23 overall and 1-18 in the Atlantic Sun, while UCF improves to 14-12 and 13-6 in conference with the victory.

The Dolphins held a two point lead, up 16-14 at 12:53 of the first half until the Golden Knights put up a 26-4 run to lead 42-20 at the intermission.

JU started the game with a 5-0 lead thanks to a three-pointer from junior guard Rebecca Montz (Erath, La.) and an inside bucket from Ostendorf. UCF responded with its first field goal of the game when senior guard Katie McDonald (Chandler, Ariz.) replied with the Dolphins' second three-pointer, giving JU an 8-2 lead at 17:10. UCF chipped away slowly at the lead, tying the ballgame at 14-14 at the 13:13 mark. Jackson responded for the Dolphins on the next trip down the floor, giving JU its last lead of the game.

JU plays its final game of the season on Saturday, March 6 when they take on Florida Atlantic at 6 p.m. in the FAU Gymnasium.
