Road scoring blues
JU is not getting a good feel for its shooting touch while playing games on the road.

The Dolphins, who are winless on the road this season, have been outscored 814-659 through 12 games. JU is shooting 30.8 (251-816) percent from the floor, while opponents are averaging 42.5 (291-684) percent each game.

On the flipside, the Dolphins are 5-3 at home and averaging 67.4 point per game, while opponents are posting 63.5 each game. JU is shooting 39.5 percent (199-504) from the floor compared to the opposition’s 36 percent (182-505).

While on the road, the Dolphins built good first half leads on five occasions this season, but each team rallied in the final 10 minutes of the half to either tie the game or take the lead. JU surrendered a season high 13-point first half lead in the losses at USF (Dec. 13) and USC Upstate (Feb. 1).

The Dolphins have shot less than 30 percent from the floor in six road contests, including four times below 27.5 percent in the game.

At Howard, the Dolphins finished with a season-low 23.5 (16-68) field goal percentage, which tied the worst mark in the Jill Dunn Era. They hit the same percentage last season in the opener at Florida on Nov. 17, 2008.
