Women’s basketball announces annual “Think Pink” game for Feb. 8th
The JU women’s basketball team will dawn a new team color on Feb. 8th when they will suit up in pink uniforms as the Dolphins take on UNF in the Veterans Memorial Arena at 5 p.m.

The pink uniforms are sponsored by the Jacksonville Orthopaedic Institute and will be worn by the Dolphins for their Women’s Basketball Coaches Association “Pink Zone” game. The WBCA Pink Zone® initiative is a global, unified effort for nation of coaches to assist in raising breast cancer awareness on the court, across campuses, in communities and beyond.

“We are thrilled that JOI is helping with this cause that is dear to us,” said JU head coach Jill Dunn. “Our program has worked for several years to help raise breast cancer awareness and this will be a stage to reach a lot of people at once. We hope that we are able to do our part and get a win in the process.”

The first 200 fans will also get pink JU basketball t-shirts to help celebrate breast cancer awareness month, while the contest will be broadcasted by Comcast Sports Southeast (CSS) on a tape delay.

The game will also be another installment in the annual SunTrust River City Rumble between the two schools in the battle for the Old Wooden Barrel.

The Dolphins return to the court on Saturday when they will travel to play Lipscomb in Nashville, Tenn. at 5 p.m.
