After opening Atlantic Sun play with a five-game winning streak, the Jacksonville University women’s basketball team has lost their last two contests and will look to home court advantage to get back in the winner’s circle. The Dolphins welcome East Tennessee State to Veterans Memorial Arena on Jan. 30 at 5 p.m.
Meeting for the 20th time this Thursday, ETSU (6-12, 2-5) leads the all-time series, 14-5. The teams split the contests last season but in the last five matchups the Dolphins are 4-1 with the last game resulting in a 90-81 overtime victory for JU.
JU’S LAST OUTTING
Facing last year’s A-Sun champions, the Dolphins struggled to defend and suffered an 84-67 defeat to Stetson as a result. Four Dolphins finished the contest in double-figures with senior guard Stephanie Edwards leading the way with a career-high 19 points. Freshman guard Sherranda Reddick added 16 points while sophomores Briona Brown and Queen Alford chipped in with 13 and 11, respectively.

Alford, Edwards and Reddick are ranked top-five in the league in steals per game. Alford and Edwards lead the way with 1.9 steals per game, while Reddick grabs 1.7 steals per game.
ETSU heads to Veterans Memorial Arena on the heels of a 57-52 loss to Mercer last Saturday. Junior guard Cara Bowling leads four other double-digit scorers with 12.7 points per game. Redshirt-junior forward Serena Clark averages a double-double on the season with 10.5 points with 10.2 rebounds.
