Women’s cross country moves to 9th in USTFCCCA South Region Polls
Coming off one of the best meets in school history, the JU women’s cross country team moved up two spots in the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association south region poll to ninth.

The Dolphins, who were ranked 11th in the first two polls, jumped up in the rankings after taking the top five spots to win the Invitational on Oct. 2. The first place finish at the meet is their sixth in the last two seasons.

“The faster times and the recognition in polls are all nice, but it is still just mid-season, and our goals is to get better each week so we can be at our best for the conference and regional championships,” said JU head coach Ron Grigg.

The Dolphins will return to action next week with two different meets during a two-day stretch. A portion of the team will run in the Sodexho Stetson Invitational in DeLand, Fla. on Oct. 16, while the other half will compete at the ISU Pre-Nationals in Terra Haute, Ind. the following day.
