MACON, Ga. -- The JU women’s cross country team has been picked to finish third in the Atlantic Sun this season.
The Dolphins were voted to finish third in the Atlantic Sun by the league coaches after finishing third overall in 2012. JU received 78 points trailing just UNF (86) and Lipscomb (100), the defending champions.
Senior Svenja Meyer, a nominee for the Preseason Runner of the Year, leads the JU team into the 2013 season after having a strong junior campaign. She ran a career-best time of 17:40.3 at the A-Sun Championships earning first team all-conference honors. Meyer also ran the second fastest 6K time in program history at the NCAA South Region when she posted a time of 21:31.5.
The season kicks off for the Dolphins at home as they host the JU Short Course Duals on August 30.
