JACKSONVILLE, Fla. – Senior Svenja Meyer and freshmen Katy Solis and Caitlin Marino will represent Jacksonville University this Friday, Nov. 15, at the 2013 NCAA South Regional Cross Country Championships. The race is hosted by the University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa at the Harry Pritchett Running Park.
The venue has been the site of the Southeastern Conference Cross Country Championships and the NCAA South Regional Championships, most recently in 2011, according to Alabama's website.
“We are looking forward to regional level competition,” Head Coach Ron Grigg said. “Svenja will have a chance to test herself and compete for All Regional recognition and take a legitimate attempt at qualifying for the NCAA Championships. For Katy and Caitlin it will be a valuable freshman experience for our future team leaders.”
The women’s 6k championship race is scheduled to start at 11:15 a.m.
Other Atlantic Sun competitors include East Tennessee State, Florida Gulf Coast, Lipscomb, Mercer and North Florida.
