With success at every level as a player and as an assistant coach, Ashley Prange has been named as the women's golf coach at Jacksonville University.

Prange recently completed her 2011 season on the Duramed Futures Tour, finishing 16th on the season ending money list.

While she has put together a stellar playing career, she has added a stellar coaching resume. As an assistant at Stetson, she has helped lead the Hatters to two Atlantic Sun Conference titles. Her father was also the head men's and women's coach at Purdue.

"Ashley brings a great mix of experience, ability and passion to our program," said JU head golf coach Mike Blackburn. "We are excited to have someone of her caliber take over the team and build it into one of the best in the Southeast."

She has two professional victories to her credit, both coming in 2006, en route to 22 career top 10 finishes. She’s played in major championships (2007 and 2010 U.S. Women’s Open) and played full-time on the LPGA Tour in 2007.

Her most well known career accomplishment was winning The Golf Channel’s “Big Break V: Hawaii” in 2006.

“I’m excited about coming to JU and building a championship program in one of the great golfing communities in the country,” Prange said. “There is a tremendous amount of potential for this program and I look forward to building it into one of the best in the Southeast.”

As a college player, Prange was among the best in the country during her career at North Carolina. She recorded three wins, 15 top 10 finishes and was a four-time all-conference honoree. She also earned All-America honors twice and was a two-time all-NCAA Regional team selection.

Prange is married to former Stetson baseball standout Brian Snyder, who is entering his second season on the JU baseball coaching staff.
