After a stellar playing career as a PGA Professional, Jennifer Borocz enters her third season as the Head Coach of the Jacksonville Women's Golf Team.

Borocz, from Shoreview, Minn., has extensive experience on the professional level as a Class A PGA Member.

Jennifer attended Sam Houston State University and was a member of the women’s golf team. She graduated Cum Laude in 2009 and was the first graduate of the PGA Golf Management program. As part of the program, she completed 16 months of internship with the PGA TOUR, including TPC Twin Cities and TPC Sawgrass.

During her collegiate career she was a four-year letterwinner, four-time All-Southland Conference selection, Most Valuable Player, team captain and led Sam Houston State to 11 tournament titles including the Southland Conference Championship title in 2004 and 2007. She was Individual Medalist twice and was named the Southland Conference Women’s Golf Athlete of the Year in 2008. She was also named to All-Academic and All-Scholar teams from 2006-2008, including the National Golf Coaches Association Scholar-Athlete award.

"We are fortunate to have someone of Jennifer's ability and experience to lead our women's golf program," said former JU director of athletics Brad Edwards. "We have the pieces in place to build a championship caliber program and with Jennifer's leadership and vision, we have the potential to be an annual contender for championships."

Borocz was elected to PGA Membership in June 2009 and worked as an Assistant Golf Professional at TPC Twin Cities, later transferring to TPC Sawgrass in Ponte Vedra Beach in June 2010. During her tenure with the TPC Network, Borocz worked in a variety of capacities including golf instruction to players of all ages. She also furthered her education and became a Certified PGA Professional.

"I am very excited to join the JU family as Head Coach for the women's golf team,'' she said. "I've always wanted to get into coaching and am very appreciative of this opportunity. There is great potential to build a championship program with the facilities we have access to. I look forward to the future of the women's golf program here at JU.''

In addition to her teaching background, Borocz has numerous PGA of America tournament wins to her credit. In 2009, she won the Minnesota Section PGA Luther Pro Series event at Stillwater Country Club. In 2010, she won the North Florida Section PGA Assistant Championship, and in doing so, qualified for the National PGA Assistant Championship where she was one of only two females in the field. She also won the North Florida Section PGA Women’s Championship in 2010. In 2011, she won the Winter Championship’s Women’s Stroke Play Championship and defended her win in the North Florida PGA-LPGA Women’s Championship. She also attended the LPGA Qualifying School and advanced through Stage I, but was forced to withdraw from Stage II due to a back injury which she is still rehabilitating.

Borocz's husband, Matt, is the Assistant General Manager at TPC Sawgrass and they have one son, Carter.
