Women's Golf Places 9th at Ryder Florida Women's Collegiate

MIAMI LAKES, Fla. - JU sophomore Ashley Grier (Hagerstown, Md.) fired a three-round 244 (86-79-79) to place 30th out of 70 golders and lead the Dolphins to a ninth-place finish at the Ryder Florida Women's Collegiate Golf Championship in Miami Lakes, Fla. JU shot a 981 (335-317-329) on the par-72, 6,317-yard course at Don Shula's Golf Club and Resort. The Dolphins finished one shot back of Florida Southern (980), while Rollins College shot a 916 to hold off USF for the tournament championship. Rollins' Charlotte Campbell fired a 7-over-par 223 to earn individual medallist honors. Seniors Karin Haggard (Gothenburg, Sweden) and Ulrika Norden (Stockholm, Sweden) each shot a 247 to finish in a tie for 32nd, while senior Winney Dorminey (Jacksonville/Wolfson) shot a 249 (87-79-83) to place 40th. Senior Ana Mateo (Madrid, Spain) shot a 271 (81-88-102) to finish in a tie for 63rd. The Dolphins return to action at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship April 19-21 in Buies Creek, N.C.
