Women's Golf Places 10th at Bethune-Cookman Spring Invitational March 1, 2005
DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Senior Pamela Shelley (Alachua, Fla.) shot an 82 to tie for 19th as the Dolphins fired a 346, finishing in 10th place at the Bethune-Cookman Invitational in Daytona Beach, Fla. The tournament was shortened to one round after Sunday's round was cancelled due to rain. Elon carded a 310 to with the team title on the par-72, 5,913-yard course at the Indigo Lakes Country Club. Charleston Southern Sara McFadden shot a par 72 to take individual medalist honors. Senior Melissa Holland (Jacksonville, Fla./First Coast) shot an 84 to place in a tie for 27th, while freshman Heather Fudge (Charlottetown, PEI, Canada) placed in a tie for 39th with a score of 88. Junior Kristen Yeomans (Coral Springs, Fla.) carded a 92 to tie for 48th in her first action of the season. Freshman Jennifer Sills (Cedar Park, Texas) shot 93 on the day to place 53rd. The Dolphins return to action at the Coca-Cola Terrier Intercollegiate in Spartanburg, S.C. on March 5-6.
