Women's Golf Brings in Scandinavian Trio to Round out 2005-06 Squad

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - The Jacksonville University women's golf team has signed Jessica Green and Therese Karlsson, both natives of Sweden, to National Letter of Intents, head coach Jim Taketa announced today. Taketa also released that Camille Loeveid is transferring from Murray State and will have two years of eligibility remaining.
"All three have extensive experience in international competition which will be a definite advantage for us," said head golf coach Jim Taketa. "They are, as a group, very dynamic and talented."
Green, from Viken, Sweden, has won two events on the Bankboken Tour, the junior circuit in Sweden, taking home the Riks No. 4 match-play event in 2004 and the regional No. 2 title in 2003. Most recently, she finished eighth in the Riks No. 8. Her junior team, Rya Golfclub, took home the Division 1 title in 2003.
Karlsson, a native of Skane, Sweden, currently ranks 124th in the mixed pro and amateur rankings in Sweden. She has a handicap of 3.2 and competes with the Elite Team of Ljunghusen GC.
Loeveid competed two years at Murray State, having her best showing at the Draper Valley Women's Invitational during the fall of 2004. She shot a season-low 70 to finish second in the event. The Oslo, Norway native had an 83.14 stroke average last year as a sophomore for the Racers.
