Women's golf takes sixth at Stetson Invitational

DeLAND, Fla. - Camilla Loeveid's three-round total of 239 placed her in a tie for 17th, leading the Jacksonville women's golf team to a sixth place finish at the Stetson Invitational, their final event of the fall season, on the par 72 Victoria Hills Country Club.
Loeveid carded the low round each day for the Dolphins, firing an 81 in the first round, followed by a 78 in the second and an 80 in the final round on Tuesday. The tie for 18th gives Loeveid three top-20 finishes in four events in the fall.
The Dolphins finished sixth after opening with a 325 before closing with back-to-back rounds of 322 to finish with a three-round total of 969. Campbell won the eight team competition with a three-round total of 907. Campbell's Maite OrtizdePinedo won the individual competition with a total of five-over par, 221.
Alexandra Andersen finished alone in 24th after rounds of 81, 80 and 81 to shoot 242 for the event. Jessica Green tied for 29th with rounds of 84, 83 and 81 to finish at 248. Therese Karlsson opened with back-to-back 81s, but faltered with an 87 in the final round to shoot 249 and finish a tie for 32nd.
Heather Fudge finished in 34th at 250, but had two of her rounds count towards the team score, posting an 82 in the first round and 80 in the final round. Her lone slip was an 88 in the second round.
The women's team will take the rest of the fall off and prepare for the spring schedule which will resume in February.
