Women's golf takes fourth at the A-Sun Championship

DeBARY, Fla. - With a round of 324, the Jacksonville women's golf team claimed fourth place at the Atlantic Sun Conference Championship on the par-72 DeBary Golf and Country Club on Wednesday.

The fourth place finish is the best ever for the Dolphins in the conference tournament, with their previous high being fifth in 2004.

Jessica Green carded an eight-over par 80 in the final round to tie for seventh, leading three Dolphins that finished in the top 20.

"This was a solid finish to our season," said JU head coach Jim Taketa. "With a young team, this was a great finish and we can build off of the experience for next season."

Campbell won the team title at 923, beating ETSU by 25 shots. Campbell's Alejandra Shaw won the individual title with a three-round total of 219, three-over par.

Green's final round left her with a three-round total of 237 to finish in a tie for seventh. Heather Fudge and Alexandra Andersen cracked the top 20 as well, tying for 19th at 245. Fudge carded an 81 in the final round while Andersen posted an 82.

Therese Karlsson wrapped up her freshman campaign with an 81 to move into 21st at 247. Camilla Loeveid posted an 86 to finish in a tie for 28th at 254.
