Women's golf in 15th at season opening event

FT. MYERS, Fla. - Camilla Loeveid carded rounds of 78 and 74 to lead the JU women's golf team in their season opener as the Dolphins are in 15th after two rounds of the Pelican Preserve Invitational.

The Dolphins posted a round of 323 in the morning and improved with a 314 in the afternoon to finish at 637. Louisville leads the 15-team event with a two-round total of 584, holding a one-shot lead over Texas Tech and five over Florida International.

Miami's Jessica Steward the leads the individual competition after posting back-to-back rounds in the 60s, finishing at seven-under par, 137.

Loeveid's eight-over par total has her tied for 34th in the individual competition.

Alexandra Andersen carded rounds of 82 and 79 to finish the day tied for 68th at 17-over par, 161. Heather Fudge put together rounds of 82 and 80 to finish in a tie for 72nd at 162, joining teammate Therese Karlsson, who had back-to-back rounds of 81.

Vicki Nektheden posted rounds of 92 and 95 to finish in 81st place.

The Dolphins wrap up their season opening event with 18 holes on Tuesday.
