Women's golf finishes seventh at the Hatter Fall Classic

DeLAND, Fla. - Therese Karlsson fired rounds of 77, 79 and a final round 77 to finish in a tie for ninth to lead the JU women's golf team to a seventh place finish at the Hatter Fall Classic.

Karlsson's tie for ninth is her best finish of the season and her first top 10 of the campaign.

Daytona Beach Community College won the nine-team event with a three-round total of 930. FAU finishes two shots back, led by individual champion P. Phol-uayporn, who finished with a total of 223, seven-over par.

"This was a good finish us and allows us to get some momentum as we head into the spring," said head coach Jim Taketa. "Therese played really well this week and has really come on strong this fall."

The Dolphins posted rounds of 330, 337 and 328 to finish with a total of 995 for the tournament.

Heather Fudge finished in a tie for 20th after an opening round 76 was followed by back-to-back 84s to finish at 244.

Camilla Loeveid posted rounds of 84, 80 and 82 to tie for 22nd at 246. Vicki Nektheden had rounds of 93, 94 and an 85 in the final round to finish in 37th at 272.

The Hatter Fall Classic wraps up the fall campaign for the Dolphins, who will return to action in February.
