March 12, 2007

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Led by Alexandra Andersen's three-over par 75, the Jacksonville women's golf team trails by one shot entering the final round of the North-South Invitational at the Jacksonville Beach Golf Course.

The Dolphins, who won the team title a year ago, posted a total of 313 as a team, which is a shot back of Eastern Illinois and Wofford for the lead in the 18-team event. JU is tied with Bethune-Cookman for third place.

"We had a good round today, but we know what we need to do to win the title tomorrow," said JU head coach Jim Taketa. "Everyone played well today and fed off of the momentum of seeing their teammates play well."

Anderson's round of 75 places her in the top five. Camilla Loveid and Therese Karlsson both carded seven-over par rounds of 79 to finish in the top 10. Heather Fudge was just a shot back with an 80 and Jessica Green one further with an 81.

The Dolphins resume their quest to defend the title on Tuesday, with the first JU player to tee off at 1:36 p.m.
