Women's golf ties for fourth at Winthrop Invitational

DeBARY, Fla. - The JU women's golf team carded a final round of 312 to finish in a tie for fourth at the Winthrop Invitational on the par-72 DeBary Golf Club.

Senior Heather Fudge posted rounds of 82 and 74 to finish in a tie for 10th place at 12-over par, the best finish for a Dolphin. Jessica Green and Alexandra Andersen also claimed top 20 finishes for JU.

Bethune-Cookman won the team title with rounds of 303 and 308 to finish at 611 and win by 15 over Stetson. BCU's Kimberly Wong won the individual title with rounds of 75 and 71 to finish at two-over par, 146.

The Dolphins opened the tournament with a first-round total of 322 and coupled with the 312 in the final round finished with a 634 total, tying Embry-Riddle.

Green opened with an 82 and finished with a 77 to take 16th at 159, 17-over par. Andersen also had an 82 in the opening round and closed with a 78 to tie for 17th at 160, 18-over par.

Therese Karlsson opened with a team-best 76 and shot an 85 in the final round to tie for 22nd at 161, 19-over par. Danielle Gibb opened with an 85 and closed with an 83 to tie for 47th at 168, 26-over par.

The Dolphins wrap up their fall schedule on Nov. 5 at the Stetson Fall Invitational.
