Battling difficult scoring conditions and a weather delay in the middle of the round, the JU women’s golf team posted a round of 337 to sit in 11th place at the NSU Shark Invitational.

Senior Alexandra Anderson led JU with a 10-over par 82, going out in 41 and coming back in 41. She is tied for 32nd in the individual competition.

“This was a tough test for everyone today as the conditions were extremely difficult,” said JU assistant coach Pamela Shelley. “We know we left some shots out there today and we’re going to back tomorrow and see how many shots we can make up.”

Nova Southeastern, the host of the event, carded a round of 306 to lead the 16-team event. Lynn University’s Megan Mangone leads the individual competition with a one-under par 71.

JU’s troubles came on the front nine, as three of the five Dolphins were higher on the front than the back nine.

Paige Gifford shot an 83, finishing with a 40 on the back nine to tie for 39th. Jessica Williams carded an 85, going 43-42, to tie for 49th.

Therese Karlsson is tied for 56th after an 87, while Morgan Jackson shot an 88, with a 43 on the front nine.

Alison Cornell, playing as an individual, shot an 88 by posting a 44 on both nines to tie Jackson in 65th.

The Dolphins wrap up the tournament with the final round on Tuesday morning.
