Women’s golf takes seventh at the Holiday Inn Express Intercollegiate
Senior Therese Karlsson shot a five-over par 77 in the final round to post a season-best tie for eighth at the Holiday Inn Express Intercollegiate.
The Dolphins posted a 317 in the final round to finish in seventh place in the nine-team event to wrap up their fall season.
Alexandra Anderson had the best round of the day for JU, carding a four-over par 76 to tie for 18th.
“This was a good finish to the fall and gives us some momentum entering the spring,” said JU assistant coach Pamela Shelley. “Everyone knows they got some work to do before we start up again in the spring.”
Stetson won the team title, posting a 298 in the final round to finish with a three-round total of 895. JU’s three-round total was 963.
Stetson’s Danielle Jackson won the individual title after posting a one-under par 71 in the final round to finish at 220, four-over par.
Freshman Morgan Jackson, Danielle’s younger sister, shot an 83 for JU to finish in 33rd at 246. Paige Gifford shot an 81 in the final round to finish in 35th at 249.
Jessica Williams had her best round of the tournament, shooting an 86 to finish alone in 44th.
The Dolphins open their spring season at the JU Women’s Invitational at Hidden Hills Country Club in February.
