
Meghan Hughes leads the Dolphins individually, posting rounds of 78 and 75 to sit in a tie for ninth at nine-over par, 153.
Louisiana-Monroe leads the 10-team event at 607, 31-over par, holding a two-shot lead over host Troy. Troy’s Haley Lawrence leads the individual competition at one-over par, 145, after rounds of 71 and 74.
“We really struggled in the second round today,” said JU head coach Mike Blackburn. “This is a great golf course and we had some opportunities to score well, but we didn’t take advantage.”
Hughes was solid in his first round, with a few hiccups, putting up four bogeys and one double to shoot 78. She improved in second round, with five bogeys and a birdie to shoot a team-best 3-over par, 75.
Francesca Yong is tied for 23rd at 15-over par after rounds of 76 and 83. Her 76 featured two birdies, but the 83 had just one birdie – a two on the par-3 12th.
Morgan Jackson tied for 33rd at 19-over par, shooting rounds of 80 and 83. Paige Gifford shot a 79 in the morning, but posted an 85 in the afternoon to tie for 35th at 20-over par.
Jessica Williams shot an 87 in the morning, but bounced back with the second-best round for the Dolphins in the afternoon with a 79.
The Dolphins will look to move up the leaderboard on Tuesday in the final round at 8 a.m.
