Women’s golf finishes 21st at the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate
Morgan Jackson posted back-to-back rounds of 74 over the final 36 holes as the JU women’s golf team finished 21st in the Kiawah Island Intercollegiate.

Miami won the 33-team event at 24-over par, 888, winning by nine over Campbell. Campbell’s Sarah Bejgrowicz and Daytona State’s Mitsuki Katahira tied for the individual medalist honors at even-par, 216.

Jackson opened the tournament with a 10-over par 82, but rounded back into form with her two straight two-over par 74s. She jumped 22 spots in the final round, going from a tie for 61st to a tie for 39th at 14-over par.

Jacksonville struggled in the opening round, carding a 31-over par, 324 to tie for 25th. The Dolphins shot a 22-over par, 310, in the second round to move into 24th place. JU shot a 24-over par, 312, in the final round to jump into 21st place at 82-over par.

Kristen Boettcher tied for 53rd at 16-over par for the event. She opened with a five-over par, 77, and followed it up with a six-over par 78, finishing with another 77.

Melissa Magdor improved every round during the event to tie for 76th at 20-over par. She opened the event with a nine-over par 81, followed by a seven-over par 79 and a wrapping it up with a four-over par 76.

Jessica Williams tied for 143rd at 36-over par. She struggled in the opening round, posting an 86, before answering with a seven-over par 79 in the second round. She finished with an 87.

Meghan Hughes tied for 153rd at 41-over par, opening the event with an 84 and following up with rounds of 88 and 85.

The Dolphins will return to the links on March 11 at the Eagle Landing Invitational in Jacksonville.
