Women’s golf in 18th at the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational
Morgan Jackson carded a three-over par 75 to lead the JU women’s golf team in the second round of the JMU Eagle Landing Invitational.

Jackson’s 75 is six shots better than her performance in the first round and moved her from a tie for 68th into a tie for 51st at 12-over par, 156.

No. 34 Chattanooga leads the 18-team event at five-over par after carding a three-under par round of 285 in the second round. Chattanooga’s Christine Wolf, ranked 95th nationally, leads the individual competition at three-under par after carding a tournament record six-under par, 66, in the second round.

The Dolphins made a seven-shot improvement in the second round, carding a 26-over par, 314.

Meghan Hughes and Jessica Williams each carded a seven-over par, 79, in the second round. Hughes had just seven bogeys while Williams had two birdies, but finished her round with a triple bogey. Hughes is tied for 93rd at 23-over par while Williams is in 85th at 18-over par.

Melissa Magdor and Kristen Boettcher rounded out the team scoring by carding a nine-over par, 81. Magdor is tied for 70th at 15-over par, while Boettcher is tied for 74th at 16-over par.

The Dolphins will wrap up the tournament on Sunday morning.
