Women’s golf ends season with seventh place finish at the A-Sun Championship
Jessica Williams and Kristen Boettcher each carded a six-over par 78 in her final collegiate round to lead the JU women’s golf as the Dolphins finished their season with a seventh place showing at the 2011 Atlantic Sun Conference Championship.

The senior duos rounds helped JU post a 27-over par, 315, in the final round to finish at 81-over par. Stetson won the tournament title for the third straight year, rallying for a 12-stroke victory over Campbell.

Stetson’s Alex Buelow won the individual title at even-par for the tournament, posting a one-under par 71 in the final round to win by five shots.

“I was happy to see Jessica finish her career with a good round,” said JU head coach Mike Blackburn. “This group has accomplished a lot in their career and we appreciate everything they have done for our program.”

Williams finished the event at 28-over par, 244, and in 38th place, improving her score each round. Boettcher’s round moved her to 22-over par, 238, and 30th place in the individual competition.

Morgan Jackson carded a seven-over par, 79, to finish in a tie for 18th at 17-over par, 233. She will finish the season with the team’s lowest stroke average and returns next season to anchor a young JU squad.

Meghan Hughes carded an eight-over par, 80, in the final round to move into 48th place, putting the finishing touches on her career with a birdie on her final hole.

Melissa Magdor finished with an eight-over par, 81, to take home 20th place at 18-over par, 234.
