MACON, Ga. – An unassisted goal with less than three minutes remaining provided the Jacksonville University women’s lacrosse team a 15-7 lead over Stetson last Saturday and earned Morgan Derner her 200th career point. Accomplishing a feat like that made it easy for the Atlantic Sun to award the attacker her season’s second Player of the Week honor.
The day belonged to Derner, who not only scored six goals and assisted on two others, but also became the first player in program history to reach the milestone. In another Fin Fact, the achievement also marked the most points by any Division I player from Florida.
In 64 games played, Derner currently sits at 203 points with 166 goals and 37 assists.
The Dolphins wrap up their five-game road trip on April 16 with a visit to Nashville to take on Vanderbilt at 2 p.m.
