Second Half Goals Lead Dolphins Over Hats 3-1

DeLAND, Fla. - Two second half goals within three minutes of each other proved to be the difference as Jacksonville defeated Stetson 3-1 in a women's soccer match at the Stetson Soccer Complex. The Dolphins improve to 8-7 overall and 5-2 in the Trans America Athletic Conference. The Hatters drop to 4-11-1 and 2-4-1.

Caroline Owen scored the first of two goals 1:59 into the game by shooting in an attempted clear by a Stetson defender. The Hatters retaliated in the 10th minute when Kristy Porcelli scored when Jacksonville goalkeeper Kristen Kirsch mishandled a shot from Jackie Catania. Porcelli's goal was her seventh of the season and 60th career point, supassing Melissa This' as the Hatter all-time point leader. Stine Kloster scored in the 47th minute intercepting a Stetson clear attempt after a save by Hatter goalkeeper Genevieve Roy. Owen scored her second goal in the 50th minute.

The Dolphins will return to action on Thursday October 28th at Mercer in a critical TAAC match. Game time is 2:00 p.m.
