Jacksonville, Fla. - Jacksonville junior forward Marit Foss was selected to the 1999 National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) Southeast Region Soccer Third Team today. Foss, an All-Trans America Athletic Conference First Team selection, led the Dolphins to a 12-8 mark overall, including 7-2 in the TAAC and an appearance in the 1999 TAAC Women's Soccer Championship Game.
A 1998 NSCAA Southeast Region Second Team selection when she led the nation in assists, Foss once again was among the nation's best in assists, ranking first in the TAAC and third in the nation with 16 (.80/game) during the 1999 season. Foss also finished first in the TAAC in total points (34) and tied for seventh in goals with seven. With her 34 points this season, Foss became the first Dolphin women's soccer player ever to break the century mark for points, closing the season with 104 for her career. Only four assists away from 50, Foss leads the Dolphins all-time in assists and her 29 goals ranks second to teammate Stine Kloster.
