Florida State forward Emma Breland scored two second-half goals as the 23rd-ranked Seminoles defeated Jacksonville, 3-0, Wednesday night in women's soccer action at the Seminole Soccer Complex.

JU sophomore goalkeeper Melissa Cancio (Hialeah, Fla.) recorded nine saves in her first match since November of 1998 after missing all of last season due to injury. Senior midfielder Marit Foss (Hamresanden, Norway) and sophomore Kristen Holstrom (Key West, Fla.) each had two shots for JU, as the Dolphins were outshot 23-8.

Breland scored her first goal at the 52:26 mark of the match with an assist from Summer Corum, and her second unassisted at 68:02. Amber Tollefson had the match-winning goal for FSU at the 15:08 mark of the game.

The Dolphins open their home schedule Sept. 8 when they host Florida Atlantic, South Alabama and Howard in the JU Nike Legends Classic.
