Forward Trine Riis Groven (Skien, Norway) and defender Hanni Wenzell (Camino, Wash.) each had a pair of goals as Jacksonville University women's soccer team defeated Howard, 9-0, under inclement conditions Friday afternoon in the JU/Nike Legends Classic at the Ashley Sports Complex.

Six Dolphin players scored in the match, including Dianne Scott (Houston, Texas) who celebrated her 22nd birthday today. Foss, who earned a spot on Soccer America's Team of the Week, also had a pair of assists along with her two goals. JU out-shot the Lady Bison 28-4 in the victory

JU struck early and often as Riis Groven opened the scoring with a header off a corner kick at 2:42 in the match. Wenzell's first goal, a header off of a Foss corner kick, came at the 21:37 mark. The Dolphins would go on to score three more goals in less than 10 minutes to close out the first half.

The second-half was all Dolphins as well, as Wenzell scored the sixth goal of the afternoon off of a corner kick by freshman forward Foss. Riis Groven, Scott and freshman midfielder Erika Chapman (Bradenton, Fla.) added the final goals for the Dolphins.

Game one of the Classic showcased Florida Atlantic and South Alabama. FAU won the contest, 2-0, off of goals by Lisanne Peart and Jessica Kmiotek.

The Dolphins face South Alabama at 2 p.m. on Sunday in the conclusion of the JU/Nike Legends Classic. Howard opens the competition at noon when they take on Florida Atlantic.
