Riis Groven Earns TAAC Offensive Player-of-the-Week Honors

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jackonville University's Trine Riis Groven (Skien, Norway) earned Trans America Athletic Conference Soccer Offensive Player-of-the-Week honors as announced by the league office Monday.

Riis Groven scored two goals last weekend and had two assists to lead the Dolphins to two TAAC victories (5-0 vs. Ga. St. and 4-1 vs. Mercer). The junior forward is tied for the league lead with teammate Stine Kloster (Stavanger, Norway) in goals scored (10) and points (27) and is tied for second in the conference in assists with seven. She also has three match-winning goals for the Dolphins.

As a team, JU leads the league in scoring (4.70 goals per game) and goalkeeping (1.00 goals against average). JU is 9-1-0 overall and 2-0-0 in conference play, and is currently riding a school-record eight-game winning streak.

The women's soccer team returns to action on Wednesday, Sept. 27 as the Dolphins host TAAC foe Stetson at 4 p.m. at the Ashley Sports Complex.
