Junior forwards Trine Riis Groven (Skien, Norway) and Karen Novak (Coral Springs, Fla.) each scored as the Jacksonville University women's soccer team shutout Samford 2-0 Thursday evening at the Samford University Soccer Complex.

With the win, the Dolphins improve their record to 16-1-0 overall and remain undefeated in TAAC play with an 8-0-0 record. The victory extends the Dolphins' school-record winning streak to 15. The Bulldogs fall to 8-7-0 on the year, 3-4-0 in league play.

Riis Groven opened the scoring for the Dolphins at 36:56 in the match with a header off of a cross by senior forward Marit Foss (Hamresanden, Norway). The assist was Foss' nation-leading 25th of the season.

Novak's goal came at the 67:20 mark of the second half off of a cross by senior forward Stine Kloster (Stavanger, Norway).

Sophomore goalkeeper Melissa Cancio (Hialeah, Fla.) recorded three saves for the Dolphins' in their school-record 10th shutout of the season.

The Dolphins return to action Saturday, Oct. 21 when they travel to Jacksonville, Ala. to take on TAAC opponent Jacksonville State at 2 p.m.
