Women's Soccer Shuts Out Georgia State, 1-0, in TAAC Tournament

Freshman defender Hanni Wenzell (Camino, Wash.) scored the Dolphins' lone goal as the Jacksonville University women's soccer team shutout Georgia State, 1-0, in the semifinal round of the Trans America Athletic Conference Friday afternoon at the FAU Soccer Complex.

With the win, the Dolphins improve to 18-2-0 on the season, while the Lady Panthers fall to 8-10-2. Sophomore goalkeeper Melissa Cancio (Hialeah, Fla.) recorded four saves in JU's school-record 11th shutout of the season.

Wenzell's goal came at the 54:44 mark off of a corner kick by Marit Foss (Hamresanden, Norway). The assist was Foss' nation-leading 27th of the year.

The Dolphins return to action Saturday, Nov. 4 when they face either UCF or Florida Atlantic in the Championship match at 4 p.m. The winner receives an automatic bid to the NCAA Tournament.
