The Dolphins defeated The Citadel, 2-0, Sunday afternoon in the final game of the Brine/Dennis Viollet Memorial Classic, on their way to capturing first place in the tournament for the second straight year.

Cadiz broke a scoreless tie in the 13th minute to put JU up 1-0 as she took a crossing pass from fellow-freshman midfielder Jenny Sniffen (Wilmington N.C.) to beat the goalie one-on-one. Junior midfielder Julie Petrauskas (Austin, Texas) followed with her first goal on the year in the 32nd minute as she blocked a goal-saving attempt by a Citadel defender back into the net for a 2-0 Dolphin advantage.
The Dolphins claim the tournament championship for the second straight year. South Florida follows with a second place finish, after splitting a win and a tie. High Point finishes third with a 1-1 record on the weekend while The Citadel takes fourth, dropping both of their matches.
The Dolphins return to action on Thursday, September 13, as they travel to Georgia State for their conference opener at 4 p.m.
