Oct. 29, 2001

JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - JU freshman goalie Stephanie Fowler (Seffner, Fla.) was honored as the Atlantic Sun Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, after recording her fifth shutout of the season in the Dolphins 2-0 win over first-place Campbell, on Monday. Fowler is the second Dolphin to be honored as Player of the Week this season.

Fowler strengthened her bid for A-Sun post season honors by posting seven saves in the win against the Camels and lowered her goals against average to 1.06, despite a 2-1 loss to Elon. Fowler's five shutouts is tied for the A-Sun lead among goalies.

The Dolphins, who have clinched a berth in the upcoming Atlantic Sun Championship, are currently in fourth place in the Atlantic Sun with a 9-6-1 overall record, including a 6-2-1 mark in conference play. JU is currently riding a six-match unbeaten streak in conference play and can secure a third-place finish with a win in their final regular-season conference match.

The Dolphins return to action on Friday, Nov. 2, at 3 p.m., when they host the current league-leading UCF Knights in their A-Sun conference finale.
