The loss ends the Dolphins' season and their attempt to defend the league title, which they captured last season.

The Panthers jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the 12th minute of the match when Sarah Feske's shot, on found the back of the net.

Holstrom provided the equalizer for JU in the 22nd minute when she fielded a misplayed clear by the Panther defense and beat the goalie for the score, sending both teams into the half with a 1-1 tie.

The match would remain tied until the 64th minute when the Panther's A-Sun first team member Ashley Edwards received a pass from Shanna Stricklen to knock home the go-ahead goal, giving Georgia State the 2-1 lead and eventual victory.

JU dominated play in the second half, as they outshot the Panthers 13-6 in the match. However, they couldn't find the second equalizer before the final horn sounded.

The Dolphins finish the season with a 9-9-1 overall record.
