Jacksonville, Fla. - The Jacksonville University women's soccer team defeated the U-18 Jacksonville Fury in its final exhibition match at the Ashley Sports Complex Sunday afternoon, 5-2. Freshman Ranveig Aas-Hanssen (Skien, Norway) led the Dolphins with two goals and two assists, who finished 1-1 in two preseason games.

JU was able to score first in the 28th minute as junior Inge Heiremans (Tremelo, Belgium) took a nice feed from Aas-Hanssen and put the Dolphins in front 1-0. Junior Erika Chapman (Bradenton, Fla.) set up Aas-Hanssen for the Dolphins' second goal in the 38th minute, putting JU ahead 2-0. Aas-Hanssen would score again two minutes later, taking a nice through ball from senior Brooke Moore (Tampa, Fla.) to put the Dolphins ahead 3-0 at halftime.

The Dolphins quickly took a 4-0 lead in the second half as sophomore Michaelene Cadiz (Lutz, Fla.) scored on an open net from freshman Regan Rone (South Amboy, N.J.) in the 53rd minute. Cadiz scored her second goal of the game in the 90th minute from Aas-Hanssen.

The Dolphins open the regular season at the UCF/Kappa Invitational in Orlando against George Washington on Friday, Aug. 30 at 4 p.m.
