JACKSONVILLE, Fla. - Jacksonville University sophomore keeper Stephanie Fowler was named Atlantic Sun Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week, announced by the conference office Monday. The Seffner, Fla., native led the Dolphins to a 3-0 shutout over Atlantic Sun foe Samford, as the Dolphins won their fifth-straight conference game and 10th-straight game overall.

Fowler made five saves in recording her second-straight A-Sun shutout, while the Dolphins handed the Bulldogs their first conference loss. The win marked Fowler's fourth shutout of the season and lowered her goals against average to a league-leading 0.65.

Freshman forward Ranveig Aas-Hanssen (Skien, Norway) was the first Dolphin to be honored this season, as she earned A-Sun Offensive Player-of-the-Week honors on Sept. 23. The Dolphins are 10-1-1 on the season and 5-0-1 in the A-Sun, remaining unbeaten in their last 11 games. JU has been receiving votes in the SoccerBuzz Southeast regional top ten poll for the past three weeks.
